Every year around the time of the Superbowl, PCC celebrates Souperbowl! Church members make homemade soup and sell it and eat it together — all to raise money to fight hunger. Because of Covid, this year’s event was different than it’s been in the past, but was very fun and raised lots of money for SOME (So Others Might Eat).
Instead of eating together, our soup chefs packaged individual portions in eco-friendly containers (many of which were frozen due to weather-related delays). We sold the containers for $5 apiece from tables set up on the sidewalk in front of the sanctuary, raising $950 for SOME (So Others Might Eat), a local organization that helps feed hungry people.
A cameraman from NBC News 4 stopped by — our event was on local TV!
